ANALYSIS

A heady and tough defender, Bergeron is best up in the box or playing downhill. Has potential on the inside for a 34 defense and should be a steady role player.

Positives: Intelligent run stuffer who is a two-down defender. Reads the play, immediately locates the ball and works to get involved. Efficient, takes proper angles and wraps up tackling. Fights hard to get to the ballcarrier. Effectively uses hand technique to stay away from blocks. Recently ran a 4.55 during Pro-Day workouts.

Negatives: Lacks the quick change of direction or the ability to immediately alter his angle of attack. Not fast laterally and cannot cut off the corners. Struggles in coverage and does more chasing than actual covering.
