THOMAS HAMNER
WR | (6-0, 190, 4.55) | Michigan State
by Pro Football Weekly Drafted by: Philadelphia, Pick 5, Round 4
, Overall 99
Notes:
Four-year starter. Second-team All-Big Ten in 1998 and first-team
All-Big Ten in '99. Carried 195 times for 883 yards and three touchdowns
and caught 15 passes for 81 yards in '96 as a redshirt freshman.
Carried 170-663-4 and caught 13-95 and one touchdown in '97, carried
209-838-4 and caught 13-72-0 in '98 and carried 288-1,362-10 and
caught 19-298-3 in '99.
Positives:
Very good running skills, vision and hands. Improved dramatically
as a senior. Sees the cut-back lanes. Catches the ball well. Can
adjust to the poorly thrown pass. Tough. Rarely fumbles.
Negatives:
Lacks the size to be an every-down back. Is not that fast
or elusive. A lot of his rushing yardage came off option plays,
in which the play set him up for a big gain.
Summary:
Could be a third-down back on the next level.
