Eagles fly to London
Philadelphia, PA (TSN) - The Philadelphia Eagles have signed
former Green Bay Packers linebacker Antonio London to a two-year
contract. Terms were not disclosed.
The six-year NFL veteran played in only one game for Green Bay
last season before injuring his knee, which forced him to sit
out the rest of the season.
The 28-year-old London played his first five seasons with the
Detroit Lions, and recorded a career-high seven sacks in 1995.
The next season, he made 70 tackles, which set a personal high
as well.
London was a third round pick in 1993 by the Lions, and has
totaled 142 tackles and 13 sacks in 76 career games -- 19 of which
he started.
Eagles coach Andy Reid feels London can help the team's pass
rush, which recorded only 42 sacks last season. The Eagles went
3-13 under previous coach Ray Rhodes in 1998.
