PHILADELPHIA (April 21, 1999) — The Eagles signed the following rookie free agents:

Jason Bostic, Cornerback, Georgia Tech, 5:08.6, 181, Lauderhill, Florida

Scrappy pass defender who plays receivers tight & utilizes his leaping ability to consistently get a piece of the ball on deep routes...Has good stop & go action, & uses his hands well to jam receivers at the line...Recently timed at 4.52 in the 40-yard dash.

1998 Season...Started all year at field cornerback, recording 71 tackles (61 solos) with two stops for losses of 5 yards... Intercepted two passes & deflected 11 others...Caused & recovered a fumble. Boston College...Opened the season
by batting away 3 passes & making 4 solo tackles. New Mexico State...Followed with 6 solo stops. North Carolina...Had a pair of interceptions for 22 yards in returns. Duke...Caused a fumble, was in on 8 tackles (7 solos) & batted away 2 passes. Virginia...Registered 7 solo tackles & 2 pass break-ups.
Maryland...Posted 11 tackles (9 solos), including one for a 3-yard loss. Clemson...Was in on 10 tackles (8 solos) with a stop behind the line of scrimmage & a pass deflection.

1997 Season...Started eight games at field cornerback...Recorded 49 tackles (41 solos) with two stops for losses, an interception & three pass deflections. Notre Dame... Made a spectacular interception that was featured on CNN Play of the Day and ESPN Plays of the Week. Juggled the ball several times before coming up with it as he fell to the ground & also had 10 tackles a stop for a loss & a pass break-up. Clemson...Blocked a punt that teammate Travares Tillman recovered and returned 30 yards for a touchdown. Georgia...Did not play due to a bruised sternum. West Virginia (Carquest Bowl)...Posted 10 tackles, including one for a loss & a pass break-up.

1996 Season...Started nine games at field cornerback, coming up with 31 tackles (24 solos) & four pass deflections. Central Florida...Had a season-high 7 hits & a pass break-up. North Carolina...Deflected a pass & credited with 5 tackles. Florida State...Added 5 tackles & a pass deflection. Maryland...Had another deflected pass & 4 tackles. Georgia...Sat out most of the game with a hamstring pull. Navy...Did not play (hamstring).

1995 Season...Appeared in seven games, missing the first four contests with a hamstring pull...Recorded 8 solo tackles as a true freshman.

High School...Lettered three times in football at Cardinal Gibbons (Lauderhill, Fla.) High... Two-time All-Broward County & All-State pick...Competed as a cornerback & tailback... Bothered most of his senior year with an ankle sprain....Super Prep Florida Top 50 choice in his final campaign...Also lettered three times in track.

1998 Season ... All-Atlantic Ten Conference first-team choice&Graded 81% for blocking consistency & made 47 knockdowns as the offense averaged 278.2 yards per game passing. Massachusetts ... Took down linebacker Khari Samuel
with a cut block on a 2-yard touchdown run by Craig Cummings as the team gained 267 yards on the ground. Connecticut ... Collected a season-high eight knockdowns while protecting QB Matt Nagy, who accounted for a school-game record 556 aerial yards. West Chester ... Made five knockdowns, including one
on a 56-yard scoring scamper by Derrick Downs as Delaware rushed for 298 yards.

1997 Season ... All-Atlantic Ten Conference choice&Started every game at center, posting 40 knockdowns while grading 77% for blocking consistency. New Hampshire ... Delivered a season-high seven knockdowns as the offense generated 498 yards.

1996 Season ... Missed spring drills while recovering from shoulder surgery, but was back on the field for the season opener, starting every game at center.

1996 Season ... Moved into the starting lineup at center&Missed the playoff contest vs. Marshall due to a shoulder separation.

1995 Season ... Appeared in 13 games with the second unit at center. 1994 Season ... Redshirted as a freshman.

High School ... All-State Group I, All-Conference, All-Union County & All-Area selection at New Providence (N.J.) High ... Standout track performer, earning All-Conference Most Valuable Player honors as he set a school record in the shot put.

Cincinnati...Recovered a fumble & posted 5 tackles (4 solos). Tennessee...Added 4 solo tackles with a fumble recovery & 2 pass deflections. Houston...Caused a fumble & deflected a pass. Memphis...Returned an interception 9 yards. Pittsburgh (Liberty Bowl)...Registered 6 tackles (4 solos).

1996 Season...Redshirted in his first year at Southern Mississippi.

Middle Tennessee...Collected eight knockdowns while opening holes used by Rausell Harvey for 1 & 36-yard scoring runs as the Illini amassed 391 yards rushing.
Northwestern...Added three knockdowns on a 79-yard, 4-play scoring drive, including a crunching block on defensive tackle Bobby Russ to clear the way for Harvey's 8-yard scoring scamper. Indiana...Delivered a timely block on defensive
end Aaron Williams that killed a Hoosier pass rush & allowed Kirk Johnson time to lob a 3-yard touchdown pass to George McDonald-Ashford & shoved defensive tackle Damian Gregory aside on Havard's 45-yard scoring jaunt as the offense
piled up 326 yards.

1997 Season...Manned the left tackle position, providing crunching blocks for an offense that averaged 286.4 yards per game...Collected 54 knockdowns & graded 83% for blocking consistency. Washington State...Executed a cut block on
defensive end Dorian Boose to clear a path used by tailback Robert Holcombe for a 48-yard touchdown run as the team gained 173 yards rushing. Penn State...Introduced defensive end Brad Scioli to the ground with a roll block on Holcombe's 26-yard scoring run. Northwestern...Brought down linebacker Barry
Gardner on QB Mark Hoekstra's 28-yard touchdown pass to Holcombe. Michigan State...Dropped defensive end Robaire Smith in the backfield on Hoekstra's 32-yard scoring toss to Rob Majoy as the Illini gained 227 aerial yards.

1996 Season...Answered the opening bell at right tackle in every game...His brother, Tom, joined him in the starting lineup for the final seven contests at left tackle...Finished with 50 knockdowns as the offense picked up 3422 yards. Akron...Shoved defensive end Jason Taylor out of the way as Robert Holcombe followed Schau into the end zone for a 1-yard scoring run & the Illini accounted for 413 yards. Northwestern...Manhandled the Wildcats' defensive front all day, taking down linebacker Ed Sutter with a cut block to spring Holcombe for a 45-yard touchdown jaunt & also blasted defensive end Tim Scharf out of the way on Holcombe's 3-yard scoring run as the Illini rushed for 178 yards. Iowa...Stuffed linebacker Matt Hughes in the backfield, giving QB Scott Weaver protection on a 17-yard touchdown toss to Jason Dulick.

1995 Season...Hampered by a sprained ankle & broken finger during the season, but still managed to start at right guard in the Michigan, Oregon, Arizona, Northwestern & Iowa contests. Michigan...In his first game at Illinois, he brought
down linebacker Steve King to clear a path for Will Smith's 5-yard touchdown run. Oregon...His cut block on middle linebacker Jeremy Asher allowed Johnny Johnson time to hit Jason Dulick with a 41-yard scoring strike.

1994 Season...Redshirted as a freshman.

High School...All-State selection by the Champaign-Urbana News Gazette & Chicago Sun-Times, adding All-Area, All-Big 12 West & Blue Chip Illustrated All-American (also rated one of the top ten linemen in the Midwest by that publication) at Bloomington (Ill.) High... Startted twice as an offensive tackle &
once as a defensive tackle...Added Super Prep & Prep Football Report
All-Midwest accolades...Rated the best player in the area by the Sun-Times.

1997 Season...Appeared in every game as a reserve fullback...Gained 105 yards with a touchdown on 24 carries (4.4 avg)...Caught seven passes for 30 yards (4.3 avg). Fall Drills...Missed most of the scrimmages with kee & ankle sprains that would hamper him throughout the season. Purdue...Picked up 22 yards on 4 receptions. Pittsburgh...Rushed 6 times for 40 yards & a 23-yard touchdown. Louisiana State...Made a pair of catches for 5 yards, ran for 20 yards on 3 attempts & cut blocked linebacker Joe Wesley on a 6-yard touchdown run by

Oklahoma State...Caught a third-down pass for a 16-yard gain, setting up a 5-yard touchdown run by fullback Jay Fazande that capped a 7-play, 80-yard drive. Iowa State...Scored his only touchdown for the season as he leaped over a pair of defenders for a 44-yard pass that gave the Sooners a 17-14 decision.

1997 Season...Appeared in four games, finishing with three receptions for 64 yards (21.3 avg.). Northwestern...Had a 29-yard catch. Texas A&M...Took down defensive end Brad Crowley on a 15-yard run by Jay Fazande & credited with a
season-long 30-yard grab.

1996 Season...Saw action in every game, starting seven contests at split end...Came up with 11 catches for 90 yards (8.2 avg.) & a touchdown. Texas Christian...Opened the season by scoring his first career touchdown on a 3-yard pass from quarterback Justin Fuente to cap a 6-play, 69-yard drive. Kansas & Texas...Gained 18 yards on a pair of receptions vs. both the Jayhawks &
Longhorns. Texas A&M...Had a 22-yard catch & delivered a key block on a 19-yard scoring run by DeMond Parker.

1995 Season...Appeared in every game as a true freshman, except vs. Texas, lining up as a reserve split end. San Diego State...Caught his only pass for the year in his first game as a Sooner, good for a 16-yard gain.

Strength/Agility Tests...4.38 in the 40-yard dash...455-pound squat.

High School...All-County selection as a blocking split end at Tucker (Decatur, Ga.) High, where the team ran the ball over 95% of the time...Still managed to catch 14 passes for 303 yards & two touchdowns as the team compiled a 13-1 record en-route to the state semi-finals in his senior year...Started three seasons
on the gridiron.
